this a good sample of an early 1958 geuine series 2 (not 2A)
a very rare vehicle since only a few years made,
it has all the original features of the series 2.
here are a few
spoked steering wheel
non key doorhandles
horn button on separate bracket on steering column
screwed air vent hinges,
air vent openers with screw knobs.
early lucas wiper motors.
early air demisters.
smith round heater,
very early low series 1 air filter and bracket.
original door tops with no slide holes for window locks, these are never changed. and are in remarkable condition.
inspection hole on tranny cover
these are only a few i can think off,
this car is so original it has never been messed with except maybe a bigger engine as i believe the original was a 2 liter, not sure about that.
it starts, runs,drives , brakes, transmission works ok as well as most little things like wipers, lights, ,
all dash clocks seem original to me.
and what i could not believe first bust had it inspected by a professional car painter,
it still is in it's first paint!! can you believe it, how good it looks, i have put A LITTLE RED DIESEL ON THE PAINT TO PRESERVE IT SO IT LOOKS A BITS A BIT GLOSSY ON THE PICTURES,
the body work so straight and in almost perfect condition, although some little work is needed to the foot wells( new ones are with the car) the old ones are gone.
and one door pillar but only a little hole.
the hood , seat base, bulkhead(except the foot wells i mentioned) rear tub, fenders , grill etc. all in very very good original condition.
the frame needs both front dumb irons replaced, rest seems very solid to me.
one very remarkable thing i discovered was that i have a MOT paper that states that due to the bad condition of the front spring hangers the frame number has been replaced in front of the first outrigger, and after a bit of search there it was clean and readable.
it has rear benches, spare wheel holder in back tub., a hard top with big windows
it's located near Rotterdam so easy to ship WORLDWIDE,
THIS IS A GEM NOT TO BE TAKEN APART! that would be a shame.
low reserve and with a bit of TLC back on the road in it's former glory, it does not even needs a repaint!!
