My Freelander is back up for sale after a waste of time bidder failed to collect. I decided to get it back on the road myself but now circumstances have ...> changed and I no longer have the time to complete it, which is frustrating as there isn`t that much left to do.Interior...The interior isn`t that bad at all. The clock doesn`t display correctly (but you probably already know that as its a Freelander and they just don`t) and there is a small rip on the seam of the drivers seat, otherwise it`s in really good condition. I`ve repaired the heater as it was either all or nothing so now all four settings work as they should. One niggly thing is that the drivers door doesn`t always lock with the fob, not a problem with the key though. Also, it has the best speakers I`ve heard in a car, you`ll need a stereo to throw in though to see for yourself though! Haha.Exterior...Almost fantastic condition! Almost. There is a penny sized spec of rust on the back door and that`s about all. The big let down of the exterior is the sunroof. It looks like its been leaking for a while now as all of the mechanism was rusted through. I`ve removed all of the broken parts and cleaned the recess ready for replacements. The glass is fine but will need new runners.Running gear...The prop shaft has been removed as the VCU had broken so the buggy is now 2wd ( something which I would have done anyway to get better fuel economy (let`s face it, it`s a Freelander so it`s not doing any major off roading)). The shaft and VCU are included in the sale so you can repair and refit if you like, it drives fantastic as is though. I`ve been advised that it is getting ready for outer CVs. I have replaced both handbrake cables, both break pipes and the rear shoes and flushed the fluid through. Breaking feels a tad spongy but it might be that it`s a Landy either that it it has air in the lines.Engine...Starts first time! the head gasket has gone in the past but has been repaired. I`ve had my local garage check it out and they`ve confirmed that it is fine now. They had a look when it was in to get the fuel pump done.Other bits...I have two keys and one fob coded to the Landy. I did get another fob but it hasn`t been programmed yet (this is included in the sale). The car is currently stored at work in Belper (not Sutton but I can`t change the location) so collection will have to be from there between 7.30 - 5.00 mon-fri or 8.00 - 12.00 sat. Thank you for looking at my Landrover Freelander. It is taxed end of August 2012. MOT until 29th May 2012 although I cannot find the certificate. It is ...> a 1800cc petrol engine. Registered August 1998. The car starts first time everytime even in the cold. The body is in good condition and the inside is too. It has done 95000 miles. It drive ok apart from when it warms up and you set off in first gear it shudders. I am not a mechanic but I think it could be the 4WD box or maybe the clutch although the clutch never slips and it changes gears easy. The electric sunroof and the passenger electric window does not work. If you win this auction then please pay cash on collection. When I bought it last year, the last owner said it had a new head gasket although I cannot confirm that although had no problems. It needs a new spare tyre as the one on it is worn. Possibly it neads the tracking done as the spare wheel is worn on one side which was on the vehicle although the other tyres seem ok but might need replacing within the next few months due to wear. | Hi, | We are selling our beloved and much cared for Freelander. The family has grown and we need more space for `stuff`! | This has genuine mileage, ...> which is incredibly low for it`s age. My wife has used it for a 10 mile round trip in her first year of owning and then this was reduced to the odd trip to the shops thereafter | It has just had a new MOT, the advisory notes were one of the break pads wearing thin and one rear seatbelt couldn`t be fully inspected as our childs seat was fitted, but it still passed. This was then serviced by my father (retired mechanic), who fitted new discs and pads to the front, new air filter, oil filter and new Texaco 10w40 oil | The tyres all have plenty of tread with a couple being recenelty renewed | The car was valeted yesterday, in a lucky break in the weather! | We had rear parking sensors fitted,along with a Parrot blue tooth kit hard wired in | The inside is really clean, with all seat and carpets being wet vac cleaned | There is a plastic load liner in the boot | The bodywork is good for it`s age. There are no known rust spots only small scratches from finger nails (under door handles) and a couple of minor marks here and there | I recommend anyone interested in buying to come and have a good look round to satify yourself of it`s condition. Test drives can be arranged if you can bring proof of insurance, failing that I can take you out for a drive. | Land Rover 50th Anniversary Edition Freelander. I have owned it for 5 years and there were two previous owners. The colour is a limited edition blue ...> but depending how you look it appears green! | 5 Door Estate, Blue, Petrol, Manual, Alarm, Rear headrests, Folding Rear Seats, Remote Central Locking, Heated door mirrors, ABS, Traction control, PAS, Air Conditioning, two tone grey Leather trim with no rips, Allow Wheels, 6 disc CD changer. Lots of service history. Long MOT (24/02/2013) and Long Road Tax (28/02/2013). The steering wheel has signs of wear on the leather. The car is in good condition for its age with no signs of rust or major dents, just the odd supermarket trolley mark here and there, one little white mark in one of the sides and a mark on the bonnet but all too small to be picked up in the pictures. It has 129.000 on the clock but I had a new original engine fitted by Land Rover @ 72.000 miles so only has done 57.000 with the new engine. The sunroof doesn`t work, it does opens but doesn`t seem to shut properly so you have to push it with your hand to close it so I decided not to use it, it hasn`t been a major problem as the air conditioning works perfectly in those sunny days but eventually will need sorting (the motor runs ok). With most other 4x4's having 2.0, 2.5 engines, I needed a 4 wheel drive but could not get/ afford the insurance with being just over 20 at the time. This vehicle competes well against other 4x4's in aspects of: TOWING, using a horse box I moved home in 3 trips and having put all the white goods in one trip I didn't even know I was towing. I have also used it to tow horses up and down the windy highland roads. It's ECONOMICAL petrol consumption. It is very SPACIOUS, I used my Freelander to move house filling it full to bursting and on the 400 + miles on country road and A roads it still managed an average of 37 to the gallon. If you've read this don't be put off, just look for the original Land rover Discovery range, they are excellent as are Range rovers and both are still being produced. If the Freelander was so good why are still making the Discovery? Bottom line, It's your choice but i would DEFINITELY seek a test drive of a couple at least before wasting your money.
