due to re-location is my 5-seat Discovery GS in metallic red. It has 2-zone climate control, Active Cornering Enhancement (ACE), twin manual sun-roofs, original Land Rover stereo, central locking, electric windows, ESP, head-lamp washers, boot-load cover and rubber floor mats. The vehicle is mechanically very sound and has average bodywork. There are no areas of rust, but a small crack is evident in the front plastic bumper and there is a small dent on roof (caused by the previous owner trying to get a better view of something!). The entire under-body was given a Waxoyl® treatment in April 2011. Whilst this model has ESP, it was one the few that was still fitted with a diff-lock gearbox which can be reactivated if required. | Unfortunately, I do not have a service history for the vehicle. used really since March this year, What can I tell you, it is a genuine CSW, fitted with genuine (out of the factory) Air Con, Power Steering, Alpine Roof lights etc. It has had one previous owner which was Norfolk Police , was maintained really well by them (as all police cars are), told it had a new engine at about 95K a little way before it was sold off, but have no paperwork to support this i`m afraid, although the engine runs more like one having done 70K not 175K !. service history and mileage of 95k. She has side steps and 19" Alloy wheels. Inside she has touch screen sat nav, voice activated logic 7 stereo system, electronic memory heated front seats and heated rear seats. There are power sockets in the back for kids entertainment etc etc etc, too many things to mention really. She is in Buckingham blue metallic with cream leather upholstry, which as you can see is in tip top condition. We had the car paintwork scotchguarded with autoglym protection so she looks lovely and shiny with a wash and no elbow grease! We are the cars second owners and have owned the car since september 2007. This is a really sad sale for me, I love this car but work commitments mean since the mot in October when the mileage was 94219 until today when the mileage is 95109 I have used her very little - she just goes out for a run to keep her hand in. Sadly we have come to the conclusion that it would be better to sell her than to let her just sit. The car is very reliable and a pleasure to drive, she had a a new alternator and battery recently. We have just had the car valeted, which we have always done periodically. The car has not had a hard life and has been well cared for. MOTs back to 2006, last serviced by me around the middle of last year. The bodywork is in good straight condition. The car is finished in metallic Oxford Blue with an ivory leather interior with navy blue piping and navy blue carpets. It has 18`` alloys with good Michelin M&S tyres. The air suspension works perfectly. The car has all the usual Vogue extras, including climate control, electric sunroof, electric seats – even electric headrests! I purchased this last year as a second car but I liked it so much that I sold my main car and bought a newer-model Range Rover. I have covered around 7000 miles in it. It drives very well and is a lovely comfortable place to travel. It has had a brand new battery within the past couple of weeks, and I have replaced the rear air springs and the brake accumulator. Brand new Pioneer Radio/CD/MP3/iPod head unit fitted 6 months ago, using all the original Harman Kardon speakers (16, I think!). The towbar was fitted only last year and has only been used for transporting motorcycles. The car passed it’s MOT first time in September. Minus points? The heated seats don’t work, and never have since I owned the car, and the cruise control doesn’t work. I believe both are common faults. Neither of these detract from the car or affect the way it drives and performs. The wheels have been repainted although some scuffs are still visible, but nothing bad (see pictures). The paintwork is fine although would benefit from a thorough polish, and the mirrors have minor scuffs on the edges. I can`t think of any other negative points but if you want to ask me any questions, I`ll answer them as best I can. Viewing welcome. it for the last 18 months and know the previous 2 keepers, so have knowledge of the vehicle for the last 7 years. It was in regular everyday use until a week ago. A change in family circumstances means I now require a seven seater, and I have gone (some would say to the dark side) and acquired a TD5. This Disco is one of the last 300tdi`s and has covered just over 148000 miles. It has a full service history from new which is detailed in the accompanying service book and various receipts. It was last serviced approx 2000 miles ago but has been subject to ongoing maintenance as and when required (it has just had a new lift pump and a set of heater plugs). A new set of rear brake calipers and pads were also recenty fitted; it does need rear discs but I have not yet got around to fitting them - a new pair is included in the sale. Unlike a lot of Discovery`s of its age, this one has mint sills, boot floor, and inner wings, and has never been welded in these areas - due to regular Waxoyl. It has side steps, roof bars (inc cross bars), a rear access ladder and a full set of genuine rubber mats (inc in the boot). It also has a genuine dog guard fitted which slides out of its brackets when not needed. A Clarion radio/CD is installed which has remote control and inputs for USB and MP3/iPod. The vehicle has had the EGR and the catalytic converter removed - this does not affect the MOT. It has four matching Lassa all-terrain tyres which all have 8mm of tread. The spare is a Goodyear Wrangler which has approx 4mm of tread. The paintwork has a number of scratches commensurate with its age, but scrubs up well when cleaned. Unfortunately I have been unable to wash the vehicle (everything is frozen!) so it does not look its best in the pictures. The interior is clean however. When you get a good one of these, they are good. However get a bad one and you can only imagine how bad they can be (speaking from experience here). The 7 seats are useful for children and friends and it has a towbar if you need it. Remember last winter? It comes with its original handbook and wallet. There are six speakers and are good quality with a rich sound. | ENGINE AND MECHANICALS: The 2.5 TDi is the best of the range. The engine is quiet, does not smoke, starts first time and enough power to exceed the national speed limits without straining even with 5-people and towing …it should be good for several thousand more. It has had a new cambelt and kit along with a full service 10,000mls ago. It has had a recent oil and filters change 3000mls ago. It makes for a very practical and economic family car/ workhorse/ prestige best car. This is average mileage for the year and I`ve seen these reach 300,000 with regular servicing. | OTHERS. Brakes and exhaust are in good condition and the battery is a recent replacement. | WHEELS AND TYRES: It has 16 inch 5 spoke genuine wheels in fair condition. The tyres are all matching good quality 225/70 x 16. They all have at least 6-8mm of tread and the spare is good as they were only fitted new a year ago. I have recently bought a genuine jack, extension bar and wheel brace as these were missing (as usual). | LEGALS: I have the V5 (logbook) in my name. The MOT is till 7th April 2012. It is a short MOT but thats why its not £2500! Comes also with a proper handbook and wallet. Vehicle road tax has just expired. It has just been sorned. I can tax it at the buyers expense if required. It has Service history up to 130000 and I have serviced it since meticulously. | DAMAGE/FAULTS: | The engine bay could do with a jet wash, the interior valeting. Electric seats have both stopped working so I`m guessing it is a fuse but as its set for me I have not bothered to look. The brakes occasionally need more pressing than normal, I went to a garage and they said its probably a vacuum leak, nothing more serious as its not all the time. The sunroofs are sealed to stop the usual leaking. These are all normal minor faults on a discovery of this year, its just normally people will not bother mentioning them. I would rather be honest. | Last year for the MOT it had to have a new subframe, both full sills and some welding. This cost me £1300 and then I had 4 new tyres fitted at a cost of £300 also. I did not mind as it has cost me next to nothing in 12 years of ownership. overall condition. The bulkhead and chassis are in great condition and the body work and interior is also in good order. The truck itself was used on a Trans-Africa expedition to Cape Town and back in 1994 and the truck was kitted out for this exped with twin tanks, uprated springs and shocks etc. The LandRover has been kept in good order ever since. The engine runs very well and is getting used regularly as we quite like the old girl however, under load, there is a fair bit of white/blueish smoke suggesting over fuelling. This can be seen in the pictures which were taken with the engine running. On tickover its lovely and there is no obvious loss of power when driving, just the smoke. The gearbox also is also a little noisy and is stuck in 4WD. You can select all gears ok and it doesn`t jump out or grind gears however I`d imagine its done a few miles hence the general noisy transmission and the 2WD needs to be sorted out which I would imagine is just a siezed linkage. All electrics and gauges work as they should including the heater which is very good - and apart from above mentioned issues, this is a very nice Series 3 LandRover and as solid as they come. I will find a tailgate and some fixings since this truck was a hardtop prior to us making her into a truck cab pickup and if I get time and the weather improves, I`ll paint the truckcab in marine blue to match the rest of the bodywork. - We can offer a replacement 2.5 n/a diesel from a 110 including fitting for £400 to the buyer if required. - Viewing is essential - there are no returns and the vehicle is being sold as seen - no warranty or guarantees on this old girl of course. Don`t be put off, it really is a tidy one. | It has plenty of service history and past bills etc, they show that the air bags have been changed and a new compressor fitted. It has not wanted for much and it shows. The interior is cream leather, no rips, heated seats, electric windows, cruise control etc etc | The body work looks great for an old truck, hasn`t been abused or used off road, has a private plate which make it stand out a bit, no rust or bubbling. | Manual so better MPG, also 15 years old so can be insured through classic car policy. | The passenger window needs a little encouragement to go back up, sometimes you need to `wiggle` the key when you remove it or the truck still thinks its in. The EAS air suspension will work fine for a few weeks but every now and then it will flash up EAS error on the dash. When this happens the car doesn`t drop, doesn`t handle any differently you just can`t lower or raise the truck. When you pull over and turn the car off, wait 5 minutes and then start again it all works fine. The local garage can`t find anything wrong. 2010. I am selling this vehicle as my Overfinch P38 which died back in 2010 has finally been fixed and this was a temporary replacement and as I already have 2 other classics it is no longer needed. Reluctant sale as I have been told I can`t have everything and we could do with the space. | Whenever I purchase a vehicle I go through them mechanically to make sure everything is ok. As the engine had done 126,000 miles back in Oct 2010 when I bought it, I decided to rebuild the top end of the engine as the camshafts suffer badly with wear. | The engine was stripped down, camshaft replaced with a new performance cyclone camshaft, new cam followers, Cloyes street true roller speed set timing chain and sprockets. | The heads were stripped, cleaned and checked for warping, reassembled and refitted. The bores were also checked for wear and all was ok, all other components were cleaned before reassembly. | Compression test was at an average of 145psi. New genuine cap, 8mm silicone leads from Real Steel and genuine rotor arm fitted. | At the moment there is a mallory electronic distributor fitted with mallory coil and ballast resistor fitted. PLEASE NOTE: these will be removed and replaced with original landrover parts if vehicle does not make the full asking price or very near to it. | Car runs smoothly and is a pleasure to drive, very smooth on the air suspension, engine has plenty of torque, | New lambda sensors and coolant sensor fitted in November 2010. All air springs have been replaced with new. | The suspension works without fault, abs all works fine, air con works could do with topping up.
