Land Rover Experience Level 1 GPS Navigation course equips delegates with the skills needed to up-load and down-load data to hand held Garmin GPS units. Delegates then practise their skills, driving and navigating vehicles over the extensive grounds of the Eastnor Castle estate. First Aid: 1 day Accidents can happen, and when they do the right first aid treatment can be a matter of life and death. LRE offer a one-day Appointed Persons First Aid course; based on the Red Cross syllabus this course is designed to provide delegates with an understanding of common first aid techniques and how to apply these; where practical the course is tailored to cover specific risks associated with our customer's operations. The course fee includes a copy of the both the delegate pack and approved course first aid book for each student, though it should be noted that this course does not qualify delegates to be an approved workplace first aider (in line with the Health and Safety Executive's guidelines for this extended qualification). First Aid at Work: 4 days LRE also offer a four day First Aid at Work course. Designed to exceed the Health and Safety Executive's requirements for training workplace first-aiders (not only good practice but a legal obligation for many UK businesses), our course balances a more detailed understanding of common first aid techniques with substantial hands-on training. THE COMMITTEE OF RED ROSE LAND ROVER CLUB WOULD LIKE TO WISH ALL MEMBERS AND FRIENDS OF THE CLUB A VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS AND A PROSPEROUS AND SUCCESSFUL NEW YEAR. Green Lane Run - Check out your club magazine for details of the New Year Green Lane Run to the South Lake District. If you want to be a part of it, send back the application form to Roger as soon as possible to allow him time to do the planning and organising. Will it be a white lane run like last year, I wonder? We have now put all the trialling dates for 2011 on the "Events" page, so get your diaries out and book those trials in and go for the annual championship!!!! You will see that the War of the Roses dates have shifted by about a month for 2011 - and will be held over the last weekend in JULY. Please note the change and pass on the information to anyone who may not be aware of the change. This is for 2011 only, we hope, due to a clash of bookings for the Cartmel camping site, and we hope to return to the normal end of June date in 2012. During 2010 we are running, for the first time, a TYRO Annual Championship. For those not familiar with the fine details of Trialling regulations, a TYRO (Try Your Rover Offroad?) trial is an opportunity for a driver to off road his vehicle in a competitive trial knowing, as far as is possible, that the terrain being utilised will be non damaging to the vehicle and will not be too severe for a "novice" driver to be worried about. TYRO trials are the only event that Red Rose Land Rover Club runs that allow young drivers, who don`t hold a driving license, to compete. They must be accompanied by an experienced (in trials) passenger/navigator who can guide them safely through the event, but it is a great way to get the youngsters involved, and they are, of course, going to be our competitors of the future. The championship will also be run in 2011, so get your practice in at this years events and then go for it in 2011. Check out the EVENTS and the NEWS pages for other events and happenings in the world of Landrovers. We hope that you will find all of the information on this site to be helpful and informative, whether you are a club member seeking out the next trial date and location ( - see the "Club Events" page, by the way) or have had no previous contact with Red Rose Land Rover Club, but share our passion for all things Land Rover (and if you do why haven`t you joined the club?).Please feel free to browse our site and to add it as a link on your site if you wish.If you experience any problems, broken links or missing pages, please let us know by e-mail at the address shown at the bottom of this page and we will endeavour to fix it. The Red Rose Landrover Club holds many events throughout the year in the North West of England for the benefit of club members, whether they are interested in Caravaning Weekends (often on private sites), Shows (such as Darwen Gala or Woodvale Rally), Fund Raisers (anyone fancy driving off road from one end of the country to the other?) and Off Road Trials (for all types of Land Rovers from new Freelanders to Winch Equipped Hybrid Specials). The club has two chosen charities which it supports throughout the year - These are Derian House and the North West Air Ambulance. If there is any other activity that you want the club to provide, that isn`t already catered for, (NO! - not Rambling) why not put it forward for our illustrious (?) committee to discuss. Any club is only as good as its members, so please help it to be one of the best by getting involved, instead of sitting back and letting others do all the work. You will also find a forum linked from the site on which you will be able to discuss anything to do with Land Rovers or Red Rose Land Rover Club with other club members or visitors. If you are not a member but are interested in joining Red Rose Land Rover Club, please drop an e-mail to the web site address and we will send you more details and an application form by return. If you`ve read to here hoping for an explanation of the picture at the top right of the page, it was a part of our club exhibit at the Derian house Gala day. As far as we know no animals were harmed in the making of this exhibit but one Discovery certainly was!!!!------------------------------------------------------ Red Rose Land Rover Club Copyright © 12/12/2010 solihull@redroselrc.co.uk || "A Land Rover is less of a car than a state of mind." from review of the 1964 Series Land Rover by Car and Driver magazine I own a 1960 Land Rover Series II 109 that I purchased in 1978. I have named her "The Green Rover". During the years that I have owned her I have learned her mechanical limits and my driving limits. With practice I've learned to expand my driving limits and have modified my Series Land Rover's limits where needed for the type of travel I like to do. I originally purchased my Land Rover to work as a ranch vehicle but as wanderlust set in she spent more time traveling than working on the ranch. After a while I gave in and transformed her into a long range expedition Land Rover. I tend to travel alone with an Irish Wolfhound, good books and a camera. I'm prone towards a gypsy style of travel where destinations are optional and not necessarily desirable. Some days I stop in one location and wait several hours for the sun to move into the right location for a picture and other days never break camp because I'm trapped in a good book. About the only time I pay attention to schedules and preplanned routes is when I'm leading a tour. Over the years My Series Land Rover, dogs and I have meandered through North America, East - West from coast to coast and North - South from about half way up Canada to the Mexican border. The majority of my Land Rover travels tend to be in the greater Four Corners area. The longest I've been out on a single Land Rover camping trip so far is 3 months. During the years that I have maintained and traveled with The Green Rover I have learned and experienced a number of things I would like to share. There is lots of good stuff here. I have tried to arrange the contents to help you quickly locate things of interest. As an alternative to the subject contents below, you can look in the index which is an alphabetical list of topics. MARTIN WALTER LTD. A high percentage of the Land Rovers taken around the world are Dormobiles. On a per model basis I strongly suspect that Dormobiles are the most traveled model of Land Rover. Every person who purchased a Land Rover Dormobile from Martin Walter had travel in mind, often long distances to exotic locations. I'm always happy when I see another Land Rover caravan out on the trail still exploring the world.
