| | Land Rover Military/Army Defender 110 Tithonus GS Wolf Hard Top 1992 2.5 Tdi .
Land Rover Military/Army Defender 110 Tithonus GS Hard top 1992 2.5 Tdi Diesel This vehicle is from a batch of Land Rover 110`s that were refurbished and ...> updated for the British Army, and feature Wolf style Hardtop, Full Roll cage, Wolf heavy duty rims and tyres, updated Exmoor seats front and rear, rubber matting throughout and chequer plating to the sills and bonnet.Recorded mileage 242,857km. (150,000 miles approx), This cannot be verified but is expected to be correct, however probably irrelavant as it is now been fitted with an ex Discovery 200Tdi (mileage unknown) it was fully serviced and fitted with a new cam belt and clutch on installation, and benefits greatly from Power steering. It drives exceptionally well the Tdi allows you to keep up with modern traffic effortlessly, and creating a very useable vehicle, without spoiling its military characteristics. Chassis and Bulkhead are in exceptional condition for a vehicle of this age. Bodywork is good with only a few small dents and scratches, it has had a full respray to a good standard when refurbished but there are a few small bubbles around the side lockers. There are signs that all the doors have been replaced as they are also very solid Wheels and tyres are wolf rims with 7.50 x 16 Michelin XZL `s all 5 are in very good condition with lots of life remaining. Interior is superb as it was fitted with new seats throughout when refurbished the later high back seats give a very comfortable (for a land rover) ride. It also benefits from a full Rad Haz Insullation Kit, which coupled with the Tdi`s good warm up characteristics make winter driving a pleasure. 1 registered owner from release. T&T until June ready to drive away. This has been my personal daily vehicle for the past 8 months, it has performed faultlessly throughout. Genuine reason for reluctant sale. Vehicle is located near to Spilsby, Lincolnshire. Viewing is invited but strictly by arrangement. Vehicle is sold as seen without guarantee or warranty. X

Specially developed for heavy-duty applications, the six-speed manual transmission also provides smooth on-road performance, and economy, whilst the low first gear reduces crawl speed and makes towing effortless. As Standard with this model of Defender Permanent four-wheel drive Permanent four-wheel drive ensures power is sent to all four wheels continuously, on or off-road. With no need to switch between two-wheel and four-wheel drive as conditions change, Defender remains sure-footed and unstoppable. Other vehicle systems (locking centre differential and traction control) come into play if traction at any wheel is lost. Dual-range six-speed transmission and locking centre differential The enormous torque developed by Defender is fully utilised through its robust dual-range transfer box and six-speed gearbox. The available twelve forward and two reverse gears provide the driver with a wide spread of gear ratios to handle heavy-duty applications. The low first gear reduces crawl speed and makes towing almost effortless whether on or off-road, while the high sixth gear produces improved fuel economy when cruising along roads. For extreme off-road conditions such as mud, ice, snow or loose ground, the centre differential can be locked, ensuring power is split equally between each axle to deliver superb traction. Suspension and Steering Build & Price for this model of Defender Suspension and Steering Defender owes much of its legendary off-road capability to excellent axle articulation coupled with coil sprung suspension. This helps each wheel maintain contact with the ground and follow the contours of rough surfaces. And with power-assisted steering as standard, relaxed control is assured at all times. Defender’s load carrying capability and the availability of heavy-duty suspension vary in and outside of Europe due to differences in market legislation. Options & Upgrades for this model of Defender Heavy Duty Suspension 2,550kg - includes Ventillated Disc Brakes Safety and Security Build & Price for this model of Defender Safety and Security For maximum control both on and off-road, Defender is available with 4-channel anti-lock brakes (ABS) and Electronic Traction Control (ETC). Detecting any significant difference between wheel speeds during braking or accelerating, this optional system helps maintain control by automatically reducing or applying brake force to the appropriate wheel. I was really disappointed when Hunters closed their doors with no explanation. Reply Tony Doe says: April 17, 2009 at 2:13 pm Really pleased that Sally and her brilliant team are back up and running. They are with out doubt the best after sales team that I have ever used. I have had some issues in the past and if it were not for Sally and her team I would have fallen out with Land Rover a long time ago. It was a real shame that Hunters went. Just wish Land Rover would sort out their service dealer status as I have work that I would like to have done on both my vehicles and do not want any one else to do it. Good dealers are hard to find ! I have had EIGHT Land Rover vehicles; if I am forced to use Lookers in Colchester I will have no choice but to switch brands. I have had nothing but hassle with them and will NOT BE USING THEM AGAIN!!!! Come on Land Rover get them appointed and make all your loyal customers lives easier !!!! Reply Dick Bridges says: March 5, 2009 at 12:20 pm How can the County Town of Suffolk not have a main Land Rover dealer. Or are they only interested in the Chelsea Tractor brigade. Country folk love their ‘Landies’ Reply Bill Smithers says: March 5, 2009 at 2:54 pm With all the city boys get the big heave ho and bonus cuts I would have thought Land Rover would be after every possible sale going. Suffolk has strong agricultural community, so it would make sense to have a big presence in Ipswich. Those guys at Hunters and Lindacre before were a cracking bunch, always winning awards for customer service. Can’t wait till they get going again with the new venture on servicing. Reply Dave Mattock says: March 5, 2009 at 2:11 pm Living in Ipswich I am delighted to hear that this new centre is opening. Will not have to travel out of town to get the old jallopy serviced. This will save me quids in fuel. Reply Bill Smithers says: March 5, 2009 at 2:55 pm me too Reply Roger Carlton says: March 5, 2009 at 9:10 pm I’m also pleased that we will have a local centre again but I hope their prices will be sensible. I also need to know that my warranty work will be covered Reply Simon Topple says: March 6, 2009 at 12:54 pm I had my vehicles serviced by these guys for the past 10 years. If they keep up the same standards and deliver on price I’ll be back like a shot. Reply Matthew says: March 12, 2009 at 9:16 pm I have started to use Lookers in Colchester.
Must say they are great. Even got some of there sales people there Alex & Kim Reply Jane Oconner says: May 3, 2009 at 1:04 pm Good luck to you all,
Have spoke with Kim @ lookers will buy another car from him this year but will still use Lindacre for service as only in Hadleigh. Reply Trevor S says: March 13, 2009 at 3:33 pm Great ! Ipswich needs a good Land Rover Service Centre. I look forward to seeing some familiar faces at the new site. Reply Trevor S says: May 1, 2009 at 11:29 am I have since had my Range Rover Sport 45,000 mile service and I can report a very friendly and efficient service from the team at Lindacre. Thanks very much and I will tell my friends ! Reply jacqui says: March 13, 2009 at 4:43 pm This is grand news, felt a little bit stranded when Hunters closed.I love my freelander and i want it to be loved when being serviced. As has been said befor, this will save so many pennies in fuel, and im looking forward to meetin the team.see you all soon xxx Reply Kevin P says: March 23, 2009 at 1:00 pm i wish every success to Greg and everyone at the new Lindacre if you maintain the service of the old one (just a little cheaper)you’ll be on to a winner Reply Andy Osborne says: March 23, 2009 at 5:28 pm The first thing i got from landrover recently was a letter to renew my warranty, what a bloody cheek i thought and phoned them to say what they could do with their warranty, basically the same as their customer loyalty.Better phone them back now ALL THE BEST AT LINDACRE see u soon ANDY Reply Chris Keeble says: March 23, 2009 at 6:31 pm I have already used them for a service and some spare parts.
Excellent service team and efficient response to parts requests.
Good value for money compared with other Landrover dealers in the region. Reply Graeme S. says: March 23, 2009 at 6:39 pm Wishing the Team all the best. What a challenge to take on in this day and age!
I contacted Inchcape after looking at their website, but received no reply. I will be paying a visit to the new centre as soon as possible. Reply Dean Coulson says: March 23, 2009 at 7:59 pm Good news that Lindacre is back in Ipswich. I always had a good experience at Norwich Road, although I felt Hunters were not quite as good as Lindacre. Hope to bring my Defender along to the new Service Centre in the near future. Good luck to all the team. Reply Helen Saxton says: March 25, 2009 at 8:13 pm Hi, congratulations on your new venture. Ipswich should be able to support a Land Rover Service Centre. We gave up on Hunter Land Rover because their service charges were horrendous and they would never tell us what the hourly rate was. Fortunately for us we have found a wonderful garage at Stradbroke, namely, Mark Peacock who specializes in Land Rover servicing and he is very honest and if there is ever a problem he strives to put it right and is not happy until the customer is. The hourly rate is always on the invoice. That’s what we call service. Best Wishes Helen Saxton. Reply Jane Crowe says: April 1, 2009 at 12:41 pm Hi,
Having worked at the original site On Norwich Road , I am sure this venture will be just as successful,I see you have an excellent team behind you who offer an aray of knowledege and experience. Wishing you every sucess in the future, will pop in and see you soon..
Jane Reply Julian R says: April 2, 2009 at 9:51 am Really great that you are all back and will be giving us all your usual high standards again. Having had all my Discovery looked after by Sally and her team for over the last 12 years I was dreading having to go elsewhere as I knew the service would not compare. I wish you all at Lindacre all the success I know you deserve. I enjoyed my visit yesterday and it was fantastic to see the spirit and enthusiasm in bucket loads, see you soon for the next service.

Reply Tony Miller says: April 17, 2009 at 4:37 pm This is very good news! We always received first-class service from both Hunters and Lindacres before them.
Hopefully you will be approved as an “Official” Service Centre soon. Well, before my LR needs it’s next service!

Glad the team are still together and we will continue to travel 500 miles because there is no better team to look after my landrover!!! Reply Jacqueline Wilson says: May 8, 2009 at 12:39 pm What horror of horrors in the loss of Hunters. I could not send my Freelander, to just anyone especially as it had been so lovingly cared for under the direction of Sally & her team over the last 7 years, (The Best of The Best) miracles do happen as Lindacre have come to the rescue in being the real A team for Landrover servicing anywhere in Essex/Suffolk.Well done all at Lindacre. Reply Julian Ripper says: May 11, 2009 at 8:26 am Thank you all for the recent service done on my Discovery. As ever 100% exceptional service from collection to return. With the hard and high mileage I do, 75000 in 22 months,I am really pleased to have you all looking after my vehicle.
So come on Land Rover give all of your customers the Service Centre we need in this area. No one else comes close to the service Sally and her team give us. Reply Kevin Mc Minn says: July 20, 2009 at 6:53 pm In 2007 we bought a TD5 ES Premium from a Northern dealer. Long and short of it, in my view, was that the car was rubbish, the dealer was RUBBISH including the dealer principal and the whole experience was utterly pathetic.
In complete contrast, the patience, diligence and communication skills of Gary Clover in particular and the Team at Ipswich Land Rover slowly but surely restored our faith in the Brand and restored the vehicle including a brand new engine to the complete satisfaction of my wife and I.
I was dismayed when I learned of the closure, and have since moved to St Neots, from where I took my new Range Rover Sport back to Ipswich for a minor warranty repair just before their closure.
I will definitely be using Lindacre from now on even though their site is 70 miles from my Hotel, such is my TRUST in Gary and the team.
Very well done for getting it off the ground, I have NO DOUBT that is the standards are maintained and you get the LR approval, you will fly.
Good luck, you deserve it.

Thanks for your help. I love my old Range Rover and have experienced problems with it for the past eighteen months and have tried several ‘experts’ to sort the problems out at considerable expense and no resolution. I was just about to give up when a colleague, who is already a customer, recommended that I give you a chance rather than sell it in despair.
You diagnosed the fault almost immediately and completed a quick repair at a relatively modest cost to myself. Trevor and Lee are a couple of stars.
Thanks again and I will definitely be back.
