Engineering and ancillaries fitted at a cost of £2500.00 last year by Mann Automotive (Land Rover Specialists Laurencekirk) The engine runs as sweet as a nut and with the panel filter, snorkel and straight exhaust I have never heard a 90 that sounds quite like this. I will truly be sad to see it go. It has only covered 73,350 miles and the chassis really is is excellent condition having being waxoyled yearly. It was last serviced at 137500 miles in September 2011, so it’s ready to go. | Fitted with 6 seats, rear tilt, adjustable towpack with electrics, chequerplate to modesty covers, full length sidesteps, alloys with a matching set of Grabber tyres. . Internally it has Exmoor trim front seats and stereo. | According to the LEZ website it is compliant with the revised LEZ rules from Jan 2012 | Further detail: | The body and paintwork are exceptionally smart and presentable (it doesn`t seem to have led too hard a life), with really nice paint, and it`s almost completely dent -free - rare for a Defender!. The paintwork seems very original indeed with just a small scratch on the OSF door, and a small bubble of electrolytic reaction on the OSR door. Both scuttle ends and A-posts are very good indeed, although there is a small bubble under the paint on the nearside scuttle corner. . All 4 doorframes are excellent, and there`s minimal electrolytic reaction. Obviously expect little areas of paint loss, slightly wavy panels and minor imperfections etc - it`s still an older Landy after all that and blemishes give it character, but apart from the above, there`s nothing I can really criticise . finished in Oslo Blue with white roof. | This one has covered a warranted mileage of 158000, but rarely have I seen one with such comprehensive history. It’s had just one owner since 2003, and the history includes 13 stamps in the original service book, old MOT’s, and a massive folder full of bills and invoices. It’s recently undergone major work including new head gasket in 2010, and new clutch & dual mass flywheel in March 2011. | It’s fitted with: modular wheels, chequerplate to wingtops and modesty covers, swingaway spare wheel carrier, mudflaps, and towpack. Also fitted with alarm. | Inside the fun continues with stereo and dog guard. The original sunroof has been sealed. | It has a long MOT to the very end of October 2012 and road tax to the end of April 2012 too. | On a 60 mile test it performed very well indeed | Further detail: | The body is, for one that`s been used extensively for mild greenlaning and lamping, smart and presentable with pretty good (and original-looking) paint, and it`s pretty dent -free save for the front of the NSF wing, which is pushed in. The paintwork seems largely original with I think just the screen hinges having been repainted in the past. The sunroof has been removed and replaced with an alloy plate that has been sealed with bitumen felt, as a remote control light was mounted on the plate to facilitate lamping. The light has been removed and the hole sealed. The original sunroof comes with the car and could presumably be refitted - if you want a wet head that is as they always seem to leak. Clearly it doesn`t leak at the moment. Both scuttle ends look first class, as do both A posts, as does what I can see of the chassis. All the doorframes are very good indeed. There`s very little electrolytic reaction. Obviously expect little areas of paint loss, slightly wavy panels and minor imperfections etc - it`s still an older Landy after all that and blemishes give it character, but apart from the above, there`s little I can really criticise save for a) a lot of scratches on the bonnet, and several hedge scratches, chiefly on the nearside, and a couple of parking dinks on the barrelsides. .See video | Interior – nice by offroader standards, and not dirty in the front at least, apart from the headlining. Both main seats have small tears in the face, and the middle seat backrest is torn at the top. | Starts on the button hot or cold and performed very well indeed on a long test- didn`t display any signs of , hesitancy, overheating etc, with a nice gearbox, minimal backlash in the transmission etc, nice steering, and no funny or expensive noises. It’s fitted with: boost alloys, sidesteps, , black chequerplate to bonnet, wingtops, modesty covers and rear quarters , sliding side windows, roofrack with snow shovel, auxiliary lights on roof bar, light guards front & rear, A bar with auxiliary lights, rear worklight, rear step, mudflaps, and adjustable towpack. Also fitted with alarm. | Inside the fun continues with aftermarket sports front seats, oddments tray, auxiliary heater, radio/CD, lowered bulkhead and modified seat runners giving more legroom, fully trimmed load area with a nice pair of forward facing folding rear seats. | This one has a warranted mileage of 138000 miles, in the hands of just 3 owners from new – the first being BT who have provided a service printout showing 12 services. . Being a factory TD5 version, it nips along very quickly with good punch from the Turbodiesel motor. 250 examples of this limited edition were produced - 100 based on the 90 Station Wagon with 150 in the versatile 110 Double Cab form. Some of the special edition extras have never been available from the factory, even as optional extras. I bought this on a whim expecting to keep it about six months but fell in love with the Land Rover `experience`. This is a special one! | The following is from the press release at the time the edition was released; | ‘With its black coachwork, leather trim, single slot CD player, air conditioning and alloy wheels the Defender Black offers features more usually found on an executive car while retaining all the off-road capability of this iconic Land Rover. Other features include chequer plate trim on the wing tops and body sides, side protection rails, leather trimmed steering wheel, chrome detailing on the instrument bezels and alloy knobs for the gear and transfer box levers. An ABS braking system and four wheel Electronic Traction Control are fitted as standard. The Defender Black is powered by the rugged 2.5 litre, five cylinder turbocharged diesel engine developing 122 PS and has a five speed manual gearbox, two speed transfer box and permanent four wheel drive. Mike Wright, managing director of Land Rover UK said: ‘Features such as air conditioning, leather seats and a CD player and design details such as the chrome instrument bezels and alloy control knobs give the interior of the Defender Black a premium feel. The black paintwork, chequer plate and alloy wheels give it real presence while it retains all its superb off-road capability. It will attract a new breed of owners to the already successful Defender range. | Here are some of the ’Defender ‘Black’ Extras and my personal enhancements: | Traction control/ABS | Factory Air Conditioning | Side Bars with chequer plate | Wrap Around window bars in Silver (I had mine replaced with a black one it looks even better) | A full black leather interior with white stitching and a leather steering wheel. The centre console / storage compartment is also in black leather with white stitching. 6th seat (with lap belt) custom made in matching leather and stitching by Exmoor Trim (£270). You can remove the centre storage box and then sit 3 + 3 (snug but functional!) Aluminum Gear knob with matching transfer box knob | The instrument dials have a chrome trim | The car is fully trimmed in high quality black carpet | Boost alloy wheels | Original Land Rover ‘Made in Solihul’ badge on the rear distinguishing this as an original ‘Black’ special edition | As the car has been used exclusively on the road I had installed a Van Aaken ECU upgrade. This gives 40% BHP and a similar torque enhancement which makes an enormous difference. It also gives a 20% fuel efficiency improvement. Having this fitted was about £470 but it has paid for itself many times over. Note: Land Rovers ECU’s are programmed conservatively for worldwide use in all climates and terrains. With the UK’s clean fuel and regular servicing the ECU can be remapped without causing any issues to reliability or longevity. It is a simple ‘plug in’ enhancement and can be removed at any time. Removing the unit will automatically revert the car back to the original settings | In addition to the factory fitted chequer plate kit, I had a custom made load bay floor cover to match as the standard rear is painted and is prone to scratch | There is a 3.5 ton rated tow bar, drop down plate and electrics. I towed a caravan for a year as I was hiking and the car has so much pulling power you did not even notice the caravan was behind! | The standard offering CD player was okay (I still have the original) but the speakers were poor and sound quality was terrible. I don’t think many landy drivers care about music but I do! I had a serious upgrade to the sound system, so professionally fitted is; A Blaupunkt Montreal DAB/SD/CD – With iPhone connection and iPhone 4 bracket An Alpine 300w AMP and 6 x Focus Reference speakers. This upgrade was £1000 and was also worth every penny! | The car came with a soft ‘hi-top’ rear load cover with aluminum supports. I still have this rear cover but there is a tear in the fabric. I felt this option looked good but was not secure so to secure my hiking equipment I upgraded this with 2 options. A ‘Truckman’ Gel Hard Top for Load Bay - the absolute best you can get. This has been professionally colour coded in Java Black with the inside being done with a special damp proof interior paint. The top was £1200 and it was £400 for painting. The hardtop is currently in the garage where I dry store it hence the ‘scenic’ picture of the car in the Lake District to show you how it looks :) I also have both keys for this. | I also love driving it with the back off but again there is no security for anything you want to put in there. I looked around at tonneau covers but could not find anything that gave me the security whilst retaining the fabulous looks (unless you wanted it to look like a farm vehicle). So as a worldwide ‘one off’ I had the following system custom made from scratch (Professionally I may add!). An aluminum load cover bolts flush on top of the rear section but a cut out section allows the spare tyre to protrude. This retains access to the rear from the drop down tailgate which can be locked securely with a padlock. To retain the ‘look’ I wanted I also had a mohair tonneau custom made. This looks fabulous and was made by the same company that did the interior leather trip for the Mclaren F1 so the standard is superb. So as you can see in the pictures it looks like a fabric back but actually underneath is an extremely secure load area. | I fitted a new Land Rover Discovery transfer box when I replaced the gearbox in 2008. This has longer gear ratios giving much better road performance, cruising and economy up to 30mpg whilst still maintaining perfectly acceptable off road so I am told. To be honest I have never been off road it was not why I bought it. The high ratio gears are also still available. To be honest the longer ratios transform the car and had I known how good this was I would have done this from new! This was £900. | Service History | As I have owned this car from new I have the full history complete with every original invoice. One owner from new (me) this car has a fabulous provenance. It goes without saying that I have maintained this car fastidiously which has really paid off as it drives perfectly. Although it has averaged 15k pa most of the miles have been done on the motorway and you would not believe how tight it feels. If you are used to agricultural landy’s you have to try this one to believe it, it really does drive well. | Service Summary | The original purchase invoice, Hunters Land Rover. Registered 15/10/2002 – 1 owner from new. The car is currently on my private number plate but it will be supplied with a ‘52’ plate for sale. | Every original Service Invoice from new. The car has an MOT and Tax until November 2012. Please note 110 pickups are taxed as LGV’s so the annual tax costs about 50% of a non pick up version. There is no difference to the insurance for private drivers; insurance for these cars is low anyway. I have all the previous MOT Certificates and Tax discs along with the original service book and all supplied manuals and documentation in mint condition. I have the full workshop manuals on CD. There are other invoices for general maintenance that has been done whenever required, and also a dealer summary of warranty history. To prepare for sale, this week the universal joint, prop-shaft and gearbox flange has just been replaced and all belts replaced with new tensioners at a cost of £500. You may think I am mad spending that to sell but I want it to be tip-top for the next owner and good home. | Paintwork and Body | The car has a few dinks here and there but the general bodywork is excellent for the age. The paintwork still gleams brightly as it has been regularly ‘Auto Glym’ waxed. As these cars are all hand built aluminum the panel fit is not like a BMW but it is pretty good for a Landy and is as it was when it left the factory! There are a couple of chips in the windscreen but they have been there for years and there has been no mention of them in an MOT. I also noticed at the weekend there is a small chip hole in on of the headlights. There is no water in it and I have covered it but it will need changing. They are available for a few pounds on eBay. The wrap around roof bars have some mild corrosion so could do with taking off and sandblasting / powder coating. As these are steel they are generally prone to a bit of corrosion. A couple of the door hinges (also steel) could also do with sorting. The tow bar which is also steel could be done at the same time if you wanted to make it perfect. These are small items and genuinely do not detract. You can see them in the pictures but please come and see to make sure. | This unique and very special Land Rover is priced to sell as I need the space. The car is available from 27th February as my new company car is being delivered. This fabulous Land Rover is stunning and turns heads, far more than any other car I have owned including a Porsche and a Morgan! I would highly recommend you coming to view to appreciate it. I have added a Terrafirma 2" suspension lift new medium duty springs, pro sport shocks, heavy duty spring clamps, tubular turrets and dislocation cones, cranked radius arms front and rear and a Polybush kit. Then a new Terrafirma tubular winch bumper and LP8500 Superwinch. Next, an alloy steering guard, return to centre steering damper, front diff guard. Terrafirma rock sliders with tubular bars and Mamouth checker plate on the bonnet and rear corners, the existing wingtop checkerplate was powder coated. Next, a Green Cotton Filter, EGR removal kit, silicone hoses. Underneath we fitted a Terrafirma Decat front pipe and a straight through centre pipe to let her breath a bit better. She has Terrafirma Dakar alloy wheels fitted with brand new 285/16 Cooper STT tyres and Bulldog hub centric spacers to retain full lock with the bigger tyres. This Defender also has light guards, a new and unused Ball & Pin towball and rear step. Inside the rear is boarded out so can be used for goods or muddy dogs alike. The car has locking wheelnuts, a Thatcham Steerling alarm system and a bluetooth phone kit. I`m sure I must have missed something and it drives great, it`s nice and stable and handles well. clock, then sold it in 2007 to my father-in-law, who ran it for a couple of years and I recently bought it back from him for the icy winter that we never had. I need a larger car now for family reasons so unfortunately the Landy has to go.It was a hardtop originally, but I added side windows which really lightens it up inside and makes driving in traffic a lot easier.The bodywork is very good, there are some marks and scratches but not many. The rear quarter cappings are a bit rusty, also the aluminium brackets for the windscreen need tidying up. The door hinges also need some paint.The rear crossmember had some welding work a couple of years ago. It will likely last another few years though before needing replacement. There is some rust on the door bottoms.I have recently fitted an EGR bypass valve, and a new steering damper. I have a new front number plate to fit, there are also 2 spare rear number plates for towing. I have only towed lightweight trailers for going to the tip etc.The interior is very good. The only areas that need attention are the steering wheel, where the vinyl fades, and the seats. If I kept it I would have replaced the seats, they are ok but are a bit flat where the foam has lost it`s support. The mats and vinyl are overall in excellent condition as you would expect from the mileage.It has a higher ratio 1.2:1 transfer box from a Discovery which raises the gearing and makes it much quieter on the motorway. The original box is still available if the buyer wants it, for an additional cost.I recently fitted a Sigma S30 alarm/immoboliser system, along with central locking on the 2 front doors. It is a very good system, even if you forget to lock the doors/arm the alarm, the immoboliser kicks in automatically after a short time so at least it won`t get stolen. It all operates from a keyfob. I have 2 sets of keys & alarm keyfobs.The rear load bed has been lined with sound deadening to cut down on drumming, which is very effective.It has a full set of Scorpion M&S tyres, with very good tread. These tyres are also very quiet on the road.I also have a new stainless steel nut & bolt set which I have yet to fit. This replaces all external screws and nuts/bolts.The MOT runs out end of April, though I will put a fresh 12 months test on this week before selling. Viewing is welcome in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. 90 200TDi Station Wagon, finished in Red with contrasting cloth interior. | The station wagon is the sought after version of the venerable Land Rover – a slightly more civilised interior but losing none of the off-road attributes of this British classic, and this is the real thing, not a conversion from a van. Being the real thing, it’s not subject to LEZ restrictions. | This one could easily pass for one 10 years newer – it’s uncannily dent-free and sound, and exceptionally clean. It’s odometer reading of 166000 miles is backed up by history including the original stamped service book, most old MOT’s back to 1994, and a big sheaf of bills. Over the past year the last owner has lavished a good deal of time and effort on it mechanically to make it just right, including a full service and new steering pump. Cambelt last replaced in 2006 at 122k. | An original factory Defender 200TDi, It’s fitted with: Power steering, sunroof, station wagon trim inc opening rear windows, alpine lights & tinted glass, rear step & combination towpack with electrics. Inside it has a centre cubby box and a radio/CD. Also fitted with a set of 4 Marshal Venture MT LT235/85 R16 tyres on black 8 spoke rims, & roof bar with extra lights. | Being a factory 200TDi version, it nips along nicely with good punch from the Turbodiesel motor | It comes with very long MOT to December 2012, and road tax to the end of February 2012 too. | On a 190-mile test on arrival it performed absolutely superbly. | Further detail: | The body is exceptionally smart and presentable (it hasn`t led too hard a life), with really nice paint (which I think is original) , and it`s exceptionally dent -free. The paintwork seems very original indeed with minimal electrolytic reaction - it really is one of the nicest one`s I`ve seen for some while. The scuttle ends and both A-posts are superb, as are the footwells. All 3 doorframes are excellent, and there`s just a little electrolytic reaction on the door and tailgate bottoms. Obviously expect little areas of paint loss, slightly wavy panels and minor imperfections etc - it`s still an older Landy after all that and blemishes give it character, but apart from the above, all I can really criticise is a) the front bumper is a little crinkled at the OS corner, a deep scratch to the back of the NS door, and a few light hedge scratches. The chassis doesn`t appear to have had any welding apart from some plating to the rear crossmember in 2008, and it`s not covered in underseal. Overall, it seems a bit of a timewarp. See video | Interior – superb overall, commensurate with the body condition etc, all the original station wagon trim is in place, and all the seats are in excellent shape. No nasty smells etc, very clean throughout. Discovery steering wheel fitted. | Starts on the button hot or cold and performed quite superbly on a 190-mile run- didn`t display any signs of , hesitancy, overheating etc, with a nice gearbox, little backlash in the transmission etc, fairly precise steering, and no funny or expensive noises. It drives exceptionally well the Tdi allows you to keep up with modern traffic effortlessly, and creating a very useable vehicle, without spoiling its military characteristics. Chassis and Bulkhead are in exceptional condition for a vehicle of this age. Bodywork is good with only a few small dents and scratches, it has had a full respray to a good standard when refurbished but there are a few small bubbles around the side lockers. There are signs that all the doors have been replaced as they are also very solid Wheels and tyres are wolf rims with 7.50 x 16 Michelin XZL `s all 5 are in very good condition with lots of life remaining. Interior is superb as it was fitted with new seats throughout when refurbished the later high back seats give a very comfortable (for a land rover) ride. Defenders or Discovery`s and I can honestly say that this is the best performing truck for my needs, for starters it is quieter then a TD5 Discovery 2, has less rattles and drives better then a standard Defender could only dream of. Much more refined then even the new TDCIThis has been achieved by always aiming to build a Defender that does everything a Defender is so good at but having a vehicle that I can live with on a daily basis and drive huge distances without having a headache or having to fight with the steering because the truck has just not had the care and attention that it should have had in the first place.This Defender has covered 78000 miles and started life as the best 110 TD5 CSW that I find in the U.K and over the years I have made it into something rather special, the most immediate difference is that I have removed the original station wagon sides and four rear dickey seats (they are included in the sale)and have replaced them with new 110 utility side panels, this looks much better in my opinion and stops people looking into the load area, plus I could never stop the rear windows rattling! On the inside it has unmarked Techno cloth interior with XS Land rover rubber floor mats in the passenger areas and unmarked black carpet in the load space. The vehicle has been FULLY soundproofed, doors,roof,floors,engine bay and bulkhead. This took me weeks to complete as the trucks interior was completely stripped and rolls of a vibration damping material were stuck to the normally floppy and noisy Defender panels 8 layers thick on the floors and bulkhead, 4 on the doors and 2 in the roof, over this are layers of foam insulation and lead damping material, all of this ensures that this 110 is considerably quieter then a Discovery 2! I know because I have owned one too! It has an air conditioning system and heating that has been adapted to allow heat to pass through the AC systems face level vents, this along with the insulation ensures the truck is cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The truck has a GKN overdrive that enables cruising speeds equivalent to a normal car and it also improves fuel economy, the TD5 has had many new parts to ensure it`s reliability and performance, standard TD5s become a bit lacking in performance when using an overdrive combined with larger tyres, that`s why it has been tuned by Bell autos along with a TD5 Alive de-cat and straight through centre pipe and Allisport performance filter. I have had a new Garret turbo fitted plus a genuine clutch and dual mass flywheel, I was not looking for silly power like some TD5 owners, I wanted cruising ability combined with low down torque and smooth running.Suspension is key to a smooth riding truck, to enable this it has been fully fitted with Old Man Emu +2 inch springs and +5 inch Old Man Emu dampers, having tried most alternatives on previous trucks the OME setup in simply amazing, the ride is smooth and controlled, combined with all of the soundproofing it really is lovely to drive, it`s a bit strange being in a Defender that it this quiet. The Gwyn Lewis suspension kit includes cranked rear arms and full spring re-location hardware, I have also added front spring rubber isolaters off of a Disco 2 as they reduce noise and vibration from the front axle. All of the steering components have been up rated to H.D spec with all new joints and OME steering damper, I have also replaced the drop link ball joint with a Discovery type, they last much longer and it has really improved the steering of the truck, it is so presise compared to a standard Defender. I purchased five Cooper Discoverer STT tyres on 16x8 gun metal grey modular steel rims less then a year ago, I have found them to be much better on the road and more durable then the BF goodrich tyres I have had on previous trucks. There is to much to talk about really, I know the truck inside out and have replaced to many parts to mention! Everything has been tightened and adjusted correctly, wheel bearings, swivel pre-load, props greased every month, track-rods greased every month, Defenders and surprisingly good to drive if everything has been setup as it should. I even flush through all fluids to ensure the oil stays looking like new, this helps clear out any debris and will ensure long life, this is something garages just don`t do. The truck will be serviced upon sale by Gigglepin 4x4 my local specialist for peace of mind.I have receipts totalling over 4500 but unfortunatly I don`t have receipts for about 2500 of other parts that I am happy to show people what they are (overdrive being one!) It has seen some gentle greenlaning by the previous owner (not heavily offroaded) and hence there are quite a lot of light hedge scratches down the sides, which may respond to a good T cut. . It has been covered by Land Rover warrantee from new until Christmas 2011, so no issues have been ignored. It’s a well cared for Defender, with low mileage and in very good clean tidy condition. No dents or scrapes and no corrosion. | It’s an XS spec, so already comes with every option, including half leather heated seats, traction control/ABS, heated windscreen, aircon, electric front windows, keyless entry, Cat 1 alarm/imobiliser and fold-away forward facing rear seats (total 7 seats, all with 3 point belts). In addition it’s fitted with Land Rover tow pack, side bars and rear step along with sill and wing top protectors, body coloured lamp guards and an aluminium steering guard at the front. Black lamp guards and roof access ladder, along with Mantec swing- away spare wheel carrier at the rear. | Inside it has genuine rubber mats in front and rear foot wells, so the carpets underneath are in top condition. It also has a headrest DVD player fitted on the passenger side to keep my son entertained on long journeys (original head rest also provided). | It also has a BAS remap along with the associated programming box so you can opt for either standard tune or the more powerful BAS tune (circa 160bhp) as preferred. I have used the BAS tune on motorway journeys to the south of France and it’s great, making the long steep hills of the Massif Central a breeze even in 6th gear. I use standard tune most of the time though since I use the Defender most days for a short commute to work through town and feel the more gentle throttle response is better suited to this kind of driving. | The standard Land Rover CD radio will be re-fitted before sale. There is also a Nokia hand-free Bluetooth system fitted and included. | A few major items have been replaced under warrantee. The clutch springs where rattling when I bought it from the Land Rover dealer and so the clutch was replaced (in mid 2010 at about 24,000 miles). The rear diff, ½ shafts and drive flanges where clunking excessively last year and hence where replaced last May (at about 29,000 miles). Things which still need to be rectified: Petrol gauge does not work (although a new sender was fitted and the wiring replaced - therefore it must be the gauge itself). The low fuel warning light DOES work, coming on when there`s approximately 2 gallons of fuel left. The speedometer has also recently stopped working even though a new cable was fitted (it could just be the pinion at the gearbox end of the cable not engaging properly, or perhaps it`s just not engaging fully with the instrument panel speedometer, but I currently don`t have the time to investigate). The heater controls (left-hand lever on the instrument panel) need attention, as the fan cable is extremely stiff. The 2-speed electric fan works absolutely fine. There`s a slight oil leak from the top of engine somewhere around the heater pipes. The wiring is in place for a heated rear window (not connected), rear wiper (not fitted) and rear window washer (not fitted). The switches for these items are obviously also not installed.Odometer 117,500 milesMOT valid until end July 2012Taxed until end January 2012 Engine:Idles fine, and pulls like a train has a rover p 5 points type distributor stainless headers to match the stainless exhaust stystem all again new Even though the vehicle tank takes 75 litres it`s a thirsty beast. Could be an ideal candidate for an LPG conversion - you could put a custom LPG container in each side locker for example. featuring the Lara Croft character originating from the cartoon. I confess that I`ve not seen either but basically LC `kicked ass` and needed a pumped up vehicle to match. So there was only one vehicle for the job - of course the veritable Defender. Now mine doesn`t come equipped with machine guns or rocket launchers but is none the worse for that and is completely standard. The scuttle ends and `A` posts are very good indeed.In no particular order, it features: Bonatti grey metallic paint (special order at that time). Chequerplate to exterior- door bottoms, sills, side bars, front wings, rear load bay and rear drop down door. Inside there is chequerplate to the front and rear floors. Full external Roll cage supporting roof rack, incorporating front screen bars, side bars, rear load bars and cross bars. Steering, suspension & chassis guards. Mantec safari snorkel. Lightbar containing 4 Hella lamps fitted to front of roof rack. Central storage holder faced in leather with cup holders with chrome alloy surround. Alloy gear knobs, also to hi/low ratio gear lever. ABS. NAS rear step & detachable tow bar. Seat risers to driver`s seat making a comfortable driving experience if 6ft+. Canvas canopy to rear load area (I have added this). Aluminium left hand air intake. Pewter alloys with well shod General Grabber TR tyres 235/85 R16 All original tombraider trim - excellent shape. Obviously there`s more. But most importantly this is a very well sorted truck. The TD5 engine gives plenty of power and torque with no leaks & no smoke (except on start up). It`s done a low 96,000 or so miles and by the looks of things hasn`t been offroaded. There are no creaks or bangs or other ominous sounding noises. It just gets on with the job and is hugely enjoyable to drive. And Boy do you get noticed! It had a new turbo last year. This year it`s had a new clutch and fork. And it drives absolutely fine. I think it must have uprated shocks as it holds the road very well. Starts immediately hot or cold, no hesitancy or overheating. Once warmed up, the needle sits just left of centre and doesn`t move. The temp guage back light is out so I guess it`s the bulb. Nice gearchange with a new clutch fork and clutch. No backlash in the transmission.Bodywise it`s very good. Expect some dints and scratches here and there - it is a Defender after all and just adds to the character. But all the door frames are excellent. There`s minimal electrolytic corrosion - the chequerplate sees to that. The offside screen hinge has lost paint; some of the powder coating to the roll cage has worn off in a few places whilst the snorkel is a little rusted. I have a new replacement that will be fitted. Importantly the chassis is sound - I think the Tombraiders got extra protection. There`s a stone hit to the screen by the tax disc.All said, this is a very well sorted and super looking truck. All you need is your very own Angelina Jolie - or Brad Pitt as appropriate - and you`re away. Oh and it has 6 months` tax and MOT to mid June 2012. Last serviced 2000 miles ago. There`s a genuine reason for sale as I`ve not had her long - and that`s a camel trophy Defender! Once you`ve driven these they get under your skin - and in a nice way!
