Land Rover 90 4C

First registered in March 1986. Good solid 4x4 that drives well. It has done 117,000 miles. It has MOT until 26^th January 2013 and Tax until end of February 2012.

I bought this about a year ago to do some light towing but now no longer required. I opted for a petrol engine for simplicity. I fitted a brand new Weber 32/34 carburettor so it is probably just as economical as most diesel 90’s of the same age, and the engine is very smooth and quiet to drive in comparison.

It had a new exhaust back box for the MOT and a small professional repair on the chassis where it meets the rear cross member. The underneath was given a good clean last year so there is nothing to hide and other than the recent minor repair I am told it has never been touched and all looks fine.

It has a towball and fully working electrics. It has recently had a new alternator, bonnet lock and the A Frame (rear axle) ball joint was replaced last May. I believe the gearbox was replaced by the previous owner. It starts and drives well for its age. Everything seems to work but the heater fan is either full on or off.

It is of course 25 years old so does show signs of age. The paintwork is showing some corrosion in places as can be seen from the photographs. It didn’t bother me as didn’t the split in the driver’s seat back on one of the seams. I am more interested in reliability! It only has a rear side window on the nearside.
